The biggest telecom company in India, Vodafone reported a 10% growth in its total revenue generation from Rs. 46,435 crores as calculated in 31st March 2016, against Rs. 42,378 crores in the FY 15. Going by the records, the telecom giant registered a robust growth of 45.2% in the last fiscal year; the profit numerically rising to Rs 8,263 as compared to Rs 5,690 crore in FY15. The EBIDTA (Earning before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of Vodafone for FY15 was Rs. 12,598, which increased by 4.1% to Rs. 13,115 crore in FY16. Vodafone had an operating free cash inflow of Rs. 5,354 in the FY 2016, while it was just Rs. 3221 in the last financial year. The stand alone net debt of Vodafone stood around Rs. 81,500 crore at the end of FY16. Considering the huge profit margin, Vodafone has made an investment of Rs. 8010 crores in the financial year 2016. According to the data, 18% of the revenue is driven by the continuous growth and for the maintenance of the margin created.
Mr Sunil Sood, Managing Director of Vodafone India said “We continue to deliver healthy double digit underlying revenue growth of 10 percent and a healthy EBITDA margin. There is a strong uptake in data and our usage has gone up 63%. Shortly, our 4G services will be available in 1,000 towns across nine circles in India. We remain committed to fulfill the evolving needs of our customers and leverage our global experience plus rich understanding of India to play a meaningful role in enabling Digital India.”
Currently, Vodafone India has around 198 Million customers across the country, the rural customer base reaching up to 106 million. The annual average growth was recorded at 7.7% since last year. As per VLR report, Vodafone has 96.5% active subscribers, out of which 67.5 million are total data users. With the growth graph of Vodafone growing rapidly, it will soon definitely be the biggest telecom company of the country.

- Vodafone’s network covers 86% of the total land, its rural penetration standing at 79%.
- Vodafone M-Pesa active user base stood at 1.3 million. While the number of M-Pesa agents stood at 120,000. The total user base was at 5.4 million.
